What is Glutathione?
Glutathione is a crucial and potent antioxidant that is made in every cell in your body. A very small tripeptide, Glutathione is composed of three amino acids: glycine, glutamine and cysteine.
Glutathione is the most abundant cellular antioxidant in oxygen-using cells. Alterations, including deficiencies in glutathione levels, have been found in several neurological conditions.
What are some Glutathione Benefits?
Glutathione is a naturally occurring protein that is made by every cell in your body. It functions to:*
- Enhance immune function & discourage inflammation by fighting infections and free radicals, while supporting detoxification.
- Support heart, brain, kidney, & liver health
- Boost regeneration of Vitamins C & E, anti-aging
- Bind with toxins to form a water-soluble complex that can be excreted through the liver.
Diminished levels of glutathione can lead to decreased efficiency in a number of body systems, including the immune cells designed to kill invading organisms. A wide range of health conditions are associated with low levels of glutathione.*
Why does some glutathione smell?
Glutathione contains a sulfur atom which explains why it has a distinct aroma. It may smell a little, but sulfur plays a major role in glutathione’s antioxidant and detoxification functions. This product has minimal smell and tastes great.
What are Liposomes?
A liposome is an extremely small (1/2 the width of a human hair), multi-layered bubble (called a vesicle). Liposomes have a fat-soluble exterior and an interior that is watery. They are made from the same type of material as our cell membranes, phospholipids.
The phospholipids in our liposomes are derived from lecithin, which is an extraction taken from non-GMO soy oil. There is no soy protein in the product.
The unique structure of liposomes allows them to encapsulate biologically active ingredients. In the case of glutathione, the liposomes keep it in its “reduced”, or biologically active state.
